Former Chairman and Managing Director of HUDCO, Mr.Vasudevan Suresh brings with him the best of wealth of connections, networks, technologies and service providers in the construction and housing sector this day in India. With his enormous experience and expertise, he is arguably the best person to advise on practical realities of all matters regarding large scale Housing and City Infrastructure projects in the country, and who can, depending on the need of the hour, bring in the right kind of external or internal expertise.

 Now the Principal Executive Officer of HIRCO Developments Pvt Ltd (a Hiranandani Group Company), Mumbai dealing with development of Integrated and Self Contained Townships, Mr.Suresh continues to play an active role as an advisor influencing public policy on real estate, urban planning, good urban governance and innovative housing, and urban development financing.

Mr.Suresh has been decorated with several honours including India 2000 Millennium Award from International Association of Education for World Peace, IMM Millennium Top CEO Award for Excellence, “Man of the Decade-Habitat” International Award from Wisitex Foundation, “Griha Nirman Maharishi Award” instituted by Pune Construction Engineering Research Foundation and Builders' Association of India,, “Architectural Engineering Award 2001” by the Institution of Engineers (India), Delhi State Centre among others.

Mr. V. Suresh, Principal Executive Officer, Hirco was honoured with the Achievement Award for Industry Doyen conferred on him by the Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC). The award was presented during the 3rd CIDC Vishwakarma Awards 2011 in New Delhi.

With over 46 years of rich professional experience, Mr. Suresh has contributed immensely to the all-round growth of housing, infrastructure and urban development. His contribution has included appropriate technology applications, National Network of Building Centres, Disaster Mitigation and Rehabilitation Projects in different parts of India. The Capacity Building programmes with which he has been closely involved have been received well within the country and abroad.

Mr. Suresh has been actively associated with the drafting of the National Building Code of India 2005 in his capacity as the Vice-Chairman of the NBC 2005. He is also the Chairman of the Housing Committee of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). He has assisted National and International agencies in Sustainable Human Settlements Development, and is currently closely associated with Good Urban Governance initiatives.

Mr. Suresh is a passionate advocate of sustainable development and continues to pursue disaster resistant, environment friendly and energy efficient options in the real estate industry. He is a leading member of the Green Building movement.

Mr. Suresh was Chairman of Government of Kerala Task Force on Housing dealing with Kerala Housing & Habitat Policy and Member of Rajasthan Government Committee on State Urban Housing and Habitat Policy.

Mr. Suresh is member of CII National Committee of Real Estate & Housing, Member of Indian Merchants’ Chamber Housing Committee, Maharashtra Economic Development Council and CREDAI.

Mr. Suresh is actively associated with the activities of Delhi Malayalee Association (DMA) and has been the Patron of DMA from 1997 to 2002 and also one of the Patrons of Kerala Development Society, a development think tank in New Delhi.

Mr. Suresh is married to S Neerada, who is an educationist (Principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya, SAP, Peroorkada, Thiruvananthapuram) and poetess in English, and has two sons, Suneel (Software Engineer) in Philadelphia and Sriram ( Masters in International Management) in Glasgow. His parental roots are from Karthigapally (Alappuzha) and Kollengode (Palakkad).
