MFG reached to help the blind old woman and her daughters at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala

Recently a video shown by a TV channel about the pathetic situation of a poor old blind mother and her physically disabled daughters are brought to the attention of our founder by an MFG member. The family is from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala and the video was about a genuine case. Later, our founder Gopalji  arranged one of our members to make a visit and submit a report about their current situation.

It was really heart breaking when we come to know about the details of this case. It has been found that the family is living in a hut with no sanitary facilities nor they have any income to survive. Their neighbors are the only help who provides them with food and basic needs regularly for last few years after their vain approach to local authorities for help. The blind mother has got two daughters and one of the daughters, 38 year old Mary is unmarried and physically challenged woman who is unable to walk.  She has to undergo a surgery to remove a tumor from her stomach but since they do not have anyone to help they cannot go to the hospital. Other daughter is married but her husband passed away few years back and she is now a cancer patient and she is also staying together with her mother and sister.

After circulating the message within the group, many of MFG members came forward to extend their help. After reviewing the offers and suggestions, our founder decided to help the family by providing Rs.3000 every month for the next one year. One of our members already transferred Rs.36,000 towards this cause. MFG also received Rs13000 from two other members which would be transferred to them for immediate support. Furthermore MFG representatives already made arrangements with a hospital for the removal of tumor and further treatment to Mary and we are also trying the possibility of providing her a wheel chair. MFG is also looking to help with the treatment of the second daughter who is now fighting with cancer. We have already received offers from over 1 lakh from few of our members which we have asked them to hold until the final plans are made for their support. One of our members also extends the offer of providing 2 cents of land at Kottayam to build a house. However the family wishes to live in the same place they currently live as they feel more comfortable to stay with their neighbors.

MFG thanks all their members who came forward and provide their unconditional support for bringing up this family from the grave situation. We will be providing latest updates about this family in the coming days.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

The Creations of the Mind

Scientists have learned a lot about our physical functioning, but most admit that what actually keeps a human being alive is a mystery not completely solved. Rising above being just a product of chemical and electrical activity in the brain, as believed by many of us, spirituality orients me and trains me to come close to my real self, my spiritual self. Before I was a stranger to my own self, unaware of what is going inside my consciousness and distant from my own self.
